About Us

Who We Are

For over a year we have been trying to improve the atmosphere at Underhill
and on our travels. A small group of like-minded fans set out to celebrate
the clubs centenary and created a large banner that was displayed at the
centenary game. As Barnet fans, we managed to pull together and create
something for the club that gives us so much to talk about. This feeling of
giving something back and the good reception the banner got made us want to
push on and create more. Since then, the group and the displays have grown,
creating what we now know today as the Black Amber Army!

We have some ambitious plans for this season, we want to create a wider
range of flags, banners and surfers which we will use both home and away to
create a colourful and varied display to welcome our team onto the pitch.
2007 will be remembered as the year the group was established, we want 2008
to be remembered as the year we pushed on and became a permanent fixture at
Underhill and beyond.

We are trying to be creative, yet responsive. We know that we can create something
that all fans will be proud of.

This group is open to all Barnet fans who want to help give something back
to the club that they love. By registering with us you will be the first to hear about any new ideas, group targets or even themed matches! If you have the time (don't worry artistic ability is not required!) you would be welcome to join the Black Amber Army on a flag making meeting or even just register your interest so we know we can count on you on a Saturday afternoon to sing as loud as you can for the men inBlack and Amber!

How You Can Help

If you want to get involved with the Black Amber Army there are a number of things you can do:

  • Lend your hand at our regular "meets" to make new flags to add to our match day displays,

  • Help out on match days with putting on the displays, whether its distributing confetti, blowing up balloons or putting up the flags,

  • Taking photos of the displays for publication on this website,

  • Writing for this website with your opinions of anything Barnet FC related,

  • And, most importantly, singing and chanting your heart out for the boys in Black and Amber!

East Terrace

The East Terrace has become a second home to many a Barnet fan over the years. Even before the existence of the BAA, the East Terrace has, in recent years been the traditional area of loud vocal active support for the Barnet Boys. It signifies what it is to be a Barnet fan; being free to chant and push the boys to victory, standing together with your mates (and some other strange characters!), showing your colours and really feeling part of what is going on, on the pitch. Over the past few seasons the BAA have tried to help make those memorable nights against the likes of Colchester, Swindon and Northampton a more regular occurrence, and with the help of the addition of colourful banners and flags, the atmosphere is getting better and better.

Not only does the East Terrace represent what it is to be Barnet, but, for us, also shows the true nature of football. Being able to stand and sing and actively support your team. Too many grounds around the country are now grey, boring, all-seater hulks with about as much atmosphere as the Moon. Something needs to be done about this, so we should count ourselves lucky at Barnet that we still have the East Terrace! One day, inevitably we will move to a new stadium, but the essence of what happens on a saturday afternoon on the East Terrace will hopefully move with us (and not to another all-seater corporate sponsored cemetery!) and we can continue to support the Bees the only way we know how: Loudly, passionately, colourfully and, of course, upright! C'mon and shake it up baby now...
